What are the age divisions in beach volleyball?
Beach Age Divisions - Please note: Age definitions are different than USAV Indoor classifications.
12 and Under - Born on or after September 1, 1997
14 and Under - Born on or after September 1, 1995
16 and Under - Born on or after September 1, 1993
18 and Under - Born on or after September 1, 1991
20 and Under - Born on or after September 1, 1989
High Performance/FIVB Age Divisions for 2010
A2-U26: Born in 1985,1986,1987
A2-U23: Born in 1988 or 1989
Junior-U21: Born in 1990 or 1991
Youth-U19: Born in 1992 or 1993
Select-U17: Born in 1994 and after
Do I need a partner to sign up and train with the Tigers Sharks Program?
No. It is preferable that you sign up with a partner but it is not mandatory. We train in small groups so a partner is not necessary. We will do our best to match you with a partner to participate in the tournaments you decide to enter.
Do we have practice if it is raining?
Please check our website at 3:30 PM on the day of your scheduled training. Most of the times we will train under the rain providing the court is safe and there is no thunder and lightning.
What do players wear?
It all depends on the location where the training/tournament is being held. Church facilities require shirt and shorts to be worn at all times. Other tournaments allow players to play in bathing suits.
Sanctioned events will abide by the USA Volleyball competition regulations and the NTR Handbook uniform policy. Participants should have the same color/style and swimsuit tops are to resemble sportsbras or the like. String bikinis are not allowed.If you are participating in a junior club's beach training program uniforms might be provided. Please refer to that individual club for uniform information.
Do the Tiger Sharks have uniforms?
Yes, we will offer tank tops, bikinis, Spandex, hats and more.
