What are the age divisions in beach volleyball?

Do I need a partner to sign up and train with the Tigers Sharks Program?

No. It is preferable that you sign up with a partner but it is not mandatory. We train in small groups so a partner is not necessary. We will do our best to match you with a partner to participate in the tournaments you decide to enter.

When does the season start and what time are practices?

Our regular season starts on May 9th and ends on June 19th. We will be practicing at the Yucatan Beach Club. Since school will be still going on, we will train from 4:30 to 6 pm from May 9th through June 8th. We will train from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm starting June 13th. We will add another session of Tigers Sharks in July for the players who will be competing in beach tournaments throughout the summer. We will also have a series called World Elite Training in July which will consist of a combination of beach and indoor training.

How are the practices?

Our practices are designed to improve the athlete's overall skills and game performance. We run many drills to focus on the fundamentals required to be successful in the sand game. We also have may drills that work on the game strategy of the game and team dynamics. There is a conditioning aspect to every training, about 20-30 minutes.

How much are the fees?

Fees for the regular season are $ 585

What is included in the fees ?

Your fees include the coaching, courts, 2 water bottles per training session, a beach volleyball and a tank top. Tournament entrance fees are not included since during the summer many players and beach teams have travel plans and other commitments. Players and teams will select the tournaments they will participate in. Players are responsible for their tournament entry fees (range is $15-$25 per player per tournament) and any travel costs.

Do we have practice if it is raining?

Please check our website at 10:30 AM on the day of your scheduled training. Most of the times we will train under the rain providing the court is safe and there is no thunder and lightning.

What do players wear?

It all depends on the location where the training/tournament is being held. Church facilities require shirt and shorts to be worn at all times. Other tournaments allow players to play in bathing suits.

Do the Tiger Sharks have uniforms?

Yes, we will offer tank tops, bikinis, Spandex, hats and more.
